Yellow is the Color of Positivity

Every year Pantone selects a Color of the Year. 2020’s color was Classic Blue, which is reminiscent of the sky at dusk. Little did we know back in December when it was announced, what was in store. I think everyone can agree that 2020 was not the year we had anticipated, and as it draws to a close, we are exhausted, and excited to start a new chapter.

This is why we are so excited about the color selection from Pantone for 2021. They actually chose TWO new colors: Illuminating, a vibrant yellow, and Ultimate Gray. We associate yellow with warmth, sunshine, and positivity. Yellow is also the color of the Solar Plexus Chakra, representative of vitality and will. When this chakra is open, it acts to empower a person and help them find their personal strength. It will help turn dreams and goals into reality.

My mother always wore yellow on the first day of the New Year: her way of looking forward with optimism. I always try to have at least something yellow on me, half tribute to her, half superstition on my own. According to Leatrice Eiseman, Executive Director of the Pantone Color institute, “The union of an enduring Ultimate Gray with the vibrant yellow Illuminating expresses a message of positivity supported by fortitude. Practical and rock solid but at the same time warming and optimistic, this is a color combination that gives us resilience and hope.” AMEN! Not coincidentally, yellow and gray are also Honeyman’s colors! So we take this as a sign that 2021 will be a great year full of hassle-free home improvement, while we help our customers create the homes of their dreams! To help you welcome new beginnings we have rounded up our favorite Pantone colors of the past with their complimentary palettes, to inspire you as you look forward to positive changes in your home and your life in the new year. Best wishes for health, happiness and abundance in the New Year!
